Artarmon House

Architect: Simpson Wilson Architects
Style: Residential
Year: 2004
Alterations to a Californian bungalow in a heritage area of Artarmon.
The stainless steel kitchen bench containing cook top and under bench oven went out onto the deck BBQ through large bi-fold doors. It was designed to work as part of the in and outside of the home.
The island bar opposite was preformed & made of polished concrete. Doors were coated with a distressed Axolotl metal coat. All doors and self closing drawers were seamless with no handles.
A large credenza unit, shown in images to the right was made in specially laid tallow wood veneer board. The manufacturing was seamless with no visible handles and a custom made LED light was fitted along the length of the unit.
There were also vanities, laundry, wardrobe and other built ins in this joinery package to ensure the house was cohesive.
