lippmann house

Lippmann House, which won 2000 Belle magazine House of the Year, was designed by Ed Lippmann, Bellwood Kitchens completed the kitchen and joinery.
The mondernist kitchen featured metallic silver polyurethane doors with stainless steel benches, appliances, integrated fridge & concealed laundry.
The kitchen cupboards are suspended off the floor with LED lighting underneath.
The island bar which had castors beneath it, enabled it to be detached and moved through the stackable glass doors and into the courtyard for entertaining.
In line with Lippmann's & Bellwood's attention to detail, all floor and top cupboard doors line up precisely with joins in the plywood floor. The soundproof plywood ceiling supported acoustics.
richardson house

One of the largest and most detailed jobs Bellwood have undertaken encompasses desks, wardrobes, vanities, wall units, beds and, kitchens. The house is located over three levels designed by Ed Lippmann.
Attention to detail was a focal point for this project. The kitchen, which was virtually commercial, required mitred corners at the edge of the cupboards to conceal the thickness of the material, slabs of Indian marble were matched. Unique soft metallic polyurethane finish was used on all doors.
Stainless steel was used extensively throughout the house with the playroom kitchen having stainless steel doors, benches and splash backs. Kickboards under wardrobes in each bedroom / study and kitchen had aluminium grilles acting as air conditioning ducts.
Over 60 sheets of specially selected wenge veneer were used to customise the joinery throughout the house to humanise the design and create a sense of warmth.

paddington substation conversion

An early 20th century power substation was transformed into an open plan, light filled contemporary home.
To create an open plan environment the kitchen, laundry and bathroom were located (and concealed) along one wall.
It was designed with no kicks onto a polished concrete floor. The doors are white gloss polyurethane, cedar top cupboards with no handles supporting the minimsl seemless design.
The laundry and bathroom are both concealed to look like part of the wall to the right and left hand side of the kitchen.
The bench top is stainless steel with a rebated front edge to give the appearance of a thin top. Splash backs were mirrored along with the skylight which was built into the top cupboards over the sink to provide natural light.
All wardrobes were white satin polyurethane floor to ceiling again with no kicks.

The brief for the Beecroft residence was to design manufacture and project manage a joinery package that was timeless, accessible and to suit a family of six, in collaboration with bellwood design.
The project was a complete new build. Because of this we were able to focus on a holistic concept that encompassed the entire residence. The focus of the concept was a timeless aesthetic that had to meld with the architectural elements of the building. This was made difficult due to the limited budget, however it is a core value of Bellwood that small budget shouldn’t affect the quality of the design or its function.
Manufacture was completed in collaboration with local manufacturer Bellwood Kitchens.
The combined kitchen / dining space is the feature of the home, the light filled, open plan space encourages conversation between family members.
Bellwood Kitchens installed and scribed all joinery for the kitchen prior to uninstalling and finishing. This ensures the perfect, custom fit, encompassed within the high ceilings and white walls, the cupboards lengthening to the ceiling support storage and a seamless design.

1910 Period house meets modern extension

When commencing planning for the extension of this 1910 home in Ashfield, the clients desired a design that was minimal & timeless using a mixed palette of materials. The interiors and joinery were completed by bellwood in conjunction with Bellwood Kitchens – a father daughter combination. We selected different materials with palettes that complemented each other including consecutive cut oak veneer, hand selected calacatta aura marble and white solid surface material.
A highlight of the project was designing and developing the kitchen island. The calacutta aura marble stone was lit by LEDs evenly to create ambiance at and warmth to the space. Images of this can be found in the process section of our website.
The 1910 home expands into a modern minimal space with a shared kitchen-dining lounge.
All joinery throughout the old 1910 section and new extension is bespoke and hand crafted by Bellwood Kitchens.
